Should people live for themselves or for the sake of others?

People are created in the blink of an eye and the presence of others is your power, a purpose of existence, a craving desire. The craving desire of mankind exists merely out of competitiveness, which enhances their competitive nature. For mankind, competitiveness only amounts to two goals: to draw the attention of the others, to achieve more and to secure better advantages. From the fundamental “eating their fill and dressing warmly”, to the dispute of rights.

We live in the society, by our relatives’ and friends’ side. They are your motivation in the pursuit of our desire, if you don’t interract with them you will lose motivation, if a problem appears you will give up. And even if you achieve your desire, what then?
Only by being by their side can you discover their value and contribute to them achieving their goals. This is a responsibility. A way of fulfilling our responsibilities. Can you imagine living a life where only you existed in this world? In this scenario, you will indeed handle all the power, sometimes even ”life” itself.

”Living for the sake of others” and ”living for your own sake” is a relative concept.When a person lives for the sake of others, happiness is relative. Doing everything for the sake of others is tiring and makes you lose yourself; doing everything for yourself is also tiring and selfish
Giving everything for others is too tiring, and you will lose yourself; doing everything for your sake will be tiring, but also selfish. People live without knowing their purpose on Earth, my opinion is to live for the sake of others.
This question can be answered in philosophical terms: the purpose should be living for the sake of others as well as living for our own sake. These are opposite purposes, but also complement each other. If you make others happy, you yourself will be happy or if you’re happy, others also feel happy for you which is a wonderful thing. I think it should be mentioned that people can lead their own lives, not just live as the shadow of others and if you are happy, the other people will also be happy.

In the immense universe, people are just a tiny being from Earth, a special kind of material formation that the space and matter have created. However, this material formation has life and a higher level of thinking which emerges the question of its existence.

This can be perceived as follows: human beings have similar characteristics as matter does such as: emersion, extinction, transformation, and so on. Its meaning is to embody the transformation and existence of matter in the universe. Moreover, a person’s birth is not determined by his own will, but by mankind and his kin, therefore the purpose of his advent cannot be for his own sake.

Nature, mankind and your kin are what brought you into this world as a member of the society, to spread your inheritance with the world (including your family) and fight for a good life. Therefore, people have a mutual purpose, that of how to make human beings (including “myself”) to live a long and better life in this universe. This is the point where you, humanity and your family share a common goal in life.

When handling affairs, people always contemplate between the two (though sometimes unconsciously), but individuals have different outlooks on the world, different knowledge, values, psychological harmony, and their interests are not the same. Some people focus on themselves, and some people focus on community.
In fact, people’s craving desire is to fulfill their responsibility; responsibility for life and a moral responsibility. Living is merely a mutual give and take process. If you are worthy, the others will acknowledge your existence and you will understand the meaning of life. If you are not worthy, then you will be similar to a stone, no one will notice you.

When going for a stroll, would you notice a stone? You would not, because it doesn’t have any value for you. It is nothing but a piece of stone. The people around you may catch your interest because they are human beings and they are valuable for you. Even though they are just sitting next to you, it makes you feel you are not alone and that you are alive. The value lies in the give and take action, people take from you and you take from people. This is the innate character of life, and your pursuit of desire is only for fulfilling its responsibilities. To live means to fulfill your responsibility.

Therefore you have to live for yourself and also live to make other people happy. The most important thing is to be joyful from your heart and if you are a loving person, your purpose is to help other people, make them happy and receive happiness from them.

~ Modern Leadership ~

What are the characteristics of effective leadership for the 21st Century?

Source

From the very start, this essay focuses on two major aspects related directly to the modern, effective leader/leadership ->
I. A leader`s profile and the differences between a Leader and a Manager

II. Youth – A Leader as a Social Entrepreneur
Nowadays, when we talk about leadership among young people, we relate to leadership through the eyes of sustainable initiatives.
I. But, first and foremost, what is actually a Leader?
Myles Munroe (Becoming A Leader, “Everyone Can Do It” ~ author and president of the International Leadership Training Institute) offers you the following definition – Leaders are ordinary people who accept or are placed under extraordinary circumstances that bring forth their latent potential, producing a character that inspires the confidence and trust of others.
So, a leader is mostly a visionary creative thinker, a change maker and an avant-garde persona and … can be anyone!
In the process of really understanding and commit to a leadership position, we ought to analyze the differences between a leader and a manager directly related to a project structure .
Leader vs. Manager ->
1. Essence –> leader = change ~ manager = stability
2. Rules -> leader = breaks them (in a constructive, positive way) ~ manager = makes them
3. Approach -> leader = sets directions ~ manager = plans details
4. Culture -> leader = shapes it ~ manager = executes it
5. Conflict -> leader = uses it ~ manager = avoids it
6. Direction -> leader = plans new paths ~ manager = uses already exiting paths
7. Credit -> leader = gives it ~ manager = takes it
8. Decisions -> leader = facilitates/builds them ~ manager = makes them
9. Vision -> leader = sells it ~ manager = tells it
10. Style -> leader = transformational ~ manager = transactional
All these characteristics inside the structure offer us a concrete/simple overview of a team-working frame, put us on thinking about our (possible) role that we already have or want to have for an amazing project.
II. What about a young individual? Does he/she has this dream of becoming a Leader? Is it necessary? Why and how? Of course is beyond than necessary that we see more and more young people active socially, getting involved in communities` issues and development.
Is it happening everywhere? Unfortunately it doesn`t happen in every country, because it depends on each national educational frame and the potential that this particular system can bring into the learning process. Only innovation in education can form a healthy system, a conscious and active citizen, great leaders and amazing projects.
Even though youth is the main character in this equation, societies are still having problems in understanding and committing to an optimal development of this generation.
Why do we need young leaders and active youth communities?
~ Because youth is probably the first resource societies are wasting and in order to change this, young people need to take their future in hands.
~ Because young people are the best observers, seeing the Global crisis as not only economic, but also social, political, environmental, educational and of identity.
~ Because young people consider that social and ecological issues are the keys to understand the present and the future to build. Science and technologies have to be considered in this respect, but they have to relate more to people, to citizens becoming part of development.
~ Because young people refuse to continue being spectators of their time, but rather persue in being actors, part of the decision-making process and actions that affect their lives and societies as wholes.
~ Because young people have understood that change can only happen collectively.
~ Therefore, along with becoming a leader/actor/accomplished citizen, naturally comes the dialogue with other individuals, organizations, networks … a dialogue that needs to be actively sustained and supported.
Related to these main social characteristics/needs, the contemporary leader CAN NO LONGER BE OUT of the `sustainable frame` … the contemporary leader becomes a social entrepreneur.
Here are the features of a social entrepreneur/leader
• The contemporary stamp of the present global transition times is now shifted towards sustainability and conscious consumption.
• This is contemporary business, a new economical model.
• At global level, more and more already existing businesses are shifting their pattern to the new sustainable one that is contributing to societies` optimal development and are acting more in favor of a social impact rather than on making profit.
• Therefore, unlike traditional business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs primarily seek to generate a social value to their societies and a long-term change.
• A social entrepreneur is a conscious citizen that recognizes a social issues and provides new innovative ideas and solutions to deal with that issue.
• A social entrepreneur sees opportunities that others are blind at and, throughout their visionary thinking, they improve systems, they invent, develop and disseminate new methods and approaches that are creating social values.
• A social entrepreneur is a determined, committed and persuasive individual that is following his dream by directly taking care of himself, his environment and clearly his people and future generations.
• A social entrepreneur aims to produce a considerably measurable social impact.
• A social entrepreneur develops paths to wisdom in the social context, by both acting for the marginalized and disadvantaged categories and encouraging creativity and visionary thinking by seeing and `attacking` the full potential of a society.
• Simply said, a social entrepreneur/leader/enterprise seeks to serve a community’s interest more than maximizing the profit.
• A social enterprise can develop in all social sectors ~ education, environment, arts and culture, disadvantage people etc. by contributing to social employment, cohesion and inequalities` reduction.
• A social entrepreneur is a change maker, a LEADER.
Social entrepreneurs identify resources where people only see problems. They view the villagers as the solution, not the passive beneficiary. They begin with the assumption of competence and unleash resources in the communities they’re serving. ~ David Bornstein, author of How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas.

-Cum erau oamenii in satul in care ai locuit inainte?

-Erau groaznici! raspunse noul venit.

Atunci calugarul i-a raspuns:

-Erau oameni foarte buni. Intotdeauna ne-am ajutat la nevoie.

Atunci calugarul i-a spus:

O Revolutie a Inimii
